  • BETWEEN NOW AND THEN IS CALLED THE “TRIAL OF YOUR FAITH”

“…the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.”

(I Peter 1:7 KJV)

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name.” (Psalm 100:4 NASB)

1. ANOTHER WORD FOR “THANKS” IS “PRAISE”!

“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.” (Romans 4:20 KJV)

  • PRAISE STRENGTHENS YOU

“…came forward morning and evening for forty days and took his stand.” (I Samuel 17:16 NASB)

2. THE “SECRET WEAPON” IS NOT ONLY WHAT’S IN YOUR HAND, IT’S WHAT’S IN YOUR MOUTH

“…let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.” (Hebrews 13:15 NASB)

“…you come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of host...

“…do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. He who steals must steal no more…” (Ephesians 4:26-28 NASB)

3 TYPES OF “JOY”: EVER PRESENT, DELIBERATE, AND SATISFYING JOY

“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NLT)

  • THE SPIRIT OF JOY IS A MATTER OR CHOICE, NOT A MATTER OF CHANCE, OR “HAPPEN-STANCE”

“…the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.” (2 Corinthians 8:1-2 ESV)

1. CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE THAT WELCOMES THE SPIRIT OF JOY

“…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” (Gal. 5:22-23 NASB)

2. BE AROUND JOYFUL PEOPLE!

“…for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10 NASB)

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I...

“…For you have stored up blessings for those who trust and reverence you.” (Psalm 31:19 TLB)

1. DECLARE IN PUBLIC, WHAT YOU PRAY FOR IN PRIVATE

“…how great is your goodness to those who publicly declare that you will rescue them...”. (Psalm 31:19 TLB)

2. WHAT GOD HAS STORED UP FOR YOU, IS RESERVED FOR YOU

“…And the Lord said, ‘Arise, anoint him; for this is he.’” (I Samuel 16:12 NASB)

“…And the older shall serve the younger.” (Genesis 25:23 NASB)

3. YOUR STORED UP BLESSINGS IS NOT JUST FAITH RELEASED, BUT ALSO TIME RELEASED

“We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.” (Hebrews 6:12 NIV)

  • THE ATTITUDE YOU CHOOSE TO MAINTAIN WHILE YOU WAIT PATIENTLY

VICTORY GROUP DISCUSSION:

1. What stored up blessings of God are you believing God for?

2. What are you declaring in public about your stored up blessings?

3. How should we treat others when they receive their blessing, and we don’t receive ours?

4. Why do you think our atti...

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 NASB)

1. YOU CONTROL THE BRIGHTNESS OF YOUR LIFE

"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of the darkness, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God..."

(2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV)

2. ATTRACTS GOD'S ATTENTION TO YOU

"The LORD's eyes keep on roaming throughout the earth, looking for those whose hearts completely belong to him, so that he may strongly support them..." (2 Chronicles 16:8 ISV)

3. THE ENEMY HATES WHEN YOUR LIGHT SHINES

"Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered..." (Psalm 68:1 NASB)

"...the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day." (Proverb 4:18 NASB)

4. KEEP THE LIGHT ON

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden, nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who ar...

  • STILL (Adverb): Nevertheless, in spite of that, even though.

“…Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” (Luke 5:5 KJV)

“holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory…” (Philippians 2:16 NASB)

1. ADD THE “STILL”

2. STILL YOUR WAY TOWARDS YOUR DESTINY

“For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”

(2 Corinthians 1:20 NASB)

“And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire…and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.” (2 Kings 2:11 KJV)

“As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. So Jesus said to the twelve, ‘You do not want to go away also, do you?’ Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know...

"...there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me..." (2 Corinthians 12:17 NASB)

1. ALLOW ADVERSITY TO PUSH YOU TO THE PLACE OF GRACE.

"...Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees..." (2 Corinthians 12:7-10 Message Bible)

2. IT'S OKAY TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR WEAKNESS

"And He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.' Most gladly therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." (2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB)

"Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10 NASB)

3. PRAY A SIMPLE PRAYER: "LORD, YOU TAKE OVER! AMEN."

"...I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become." (2 Corinthians 12:10 Message Bible)

1. YOU CHOOSE THE QUALITY OF YOUR RIDE

"...He has also set eternity in their heart..." (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NASB)

  • WHEN YOUR INTERNAL STRUTS ARE BAD EVERY ROAD BECOMES PROBLEMATIC

"..greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world." (1 John 4:4 NASB)

2. OPPORTUNITY'S ROAD MIGHT BE ROUGH BUT YOU CAN MAKE YOUR JOURNEY SMOOTHER

"Make the road smooth and straight! Every ditch will be filled in, every bump smoothed out, the detours straightened out, all the ruts paved over..." (Luke 3:4-6 Message)

3. YOU'RE EQUIPPED AND EMPOWERED TO TAKE THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED

"...'The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day. And he was saying to them all, 'If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me." (Luke 9:22-23 NASB)
