“…do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. He who steals must steal no more…” (Ephesians 4:26-28 NASB)
3 TYPES OF “JOY”: EVER PRESENT, DELIBERATE, AND SATISFYING JOY
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NLT)
THE SPIRIT OF JOY IS A MATTER OR CHOICE, NOT A MATTER OF CHANCE, OR “HAPPEN-STANCE”
“…the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.” (2 Corinthians 8:1-2 ESV)
1. CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE THAT WELCOMES THE SPIRIT OF JOY
“…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” (Gal. 5:22-23 NASB)
2. BE AROUND JOYFUL PEOPLE!
“…for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10 NASB)
STILL (Adverb): Nevertheless, in spite of that, even though.
“…Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” (Luke 5:5 KJV)
“holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory…” (Philippians 2:16 NASB)
1. ADD THE “STILL”
2. STILL YOUR WAY TOWARDS YOUR DESTINY
“For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”
(2 Corinthians 1:20 NASB)
“And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire…and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.” (2 Kings 2:11 KJV)
“As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. So Jesus said to the twelve, ‘You do not want to go away also, do you?’ Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know...

"...Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees..." (2 Corinthians 12:7-10 Message Bible)
2. IT'S OKAY TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR WEAKNESS
"And He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.' Most gladly therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." (2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB)
"Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10 NASB)
3. PRAY A SIMPLE PRAYER: "LORD, YOU TAKE OVER! AMEN."
"...I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become." (2 Corinthians 12:10 Message Bible)

"Make the road smooth and straight! Every ditch will be filled in, every bump smoothed out, the detours straightened out, all the ruts paved over..." (Luke 3:4-6 Message)
3. YOU'RE EQUIPPED AND EMPOWERED TO TAKE THE ROAD LESSTRAVELED
"...'The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day. And he was saying to them all, 'If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me." (Luke 9:22-23 NASB)
