“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NASB)
Mutable: liable to change
Immutable: unchanging over time or unable to be changed
1.) JESUS RESOLVED TO LIVE A LIFE OF OBEDIENCE
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 6:38, NASB)
2.) JESUS RESOLVED TO SHOW GOD’S CHARACTER
“ …but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” (John 1:17–18, NLT)

"The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;" (Psalm 18:2 NASB)
The Hope in Rock Bottom
1. ROCK BOTTOM DETACHES US FROM FALSE HOPES.
ROCK BOTTOM’S FIRST VICTIM IS VANITY.
"Remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world." (Ephesians 2:12 NASB)
2. ROCK BOTTOM DEMANDS CHANGE.
"When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6 NASB)
"The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” (John 5:7 NASB)
"Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and...
“When the men had come to Him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’” (Luke 7:20 NKJV)
1. Look in unexpected places!
“…and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29 NKJV)
2. Expand your Jesus box!
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…” (Galatians 2:20 NASB)
3. Our expectations limits God’s blessing!
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.“ And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
“I’ve got something to say. Is anybody listening? I’ve a warning to post. Will anyone notice? It’s hopeless! Their ears are stuffed with wax—deaf as a post, blind as a bat. It’s hopeless! They’ve tuned out God. They don’t want to hear from me.” Jer 6:10 MSG
GARDENER ON DUTY
1. G.O.D. KNOWS YOU: YOU’RE CALLED TO PLANT SEEDS AND TO SPEAK LIFE!!
“See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Jer 1:10 NIV
2. G.O.D. SEES YOU: DO WHAT YOU CAN, AND LEAVE YOUR MARK!!
“I was like a lamb being led to the slaughter. I had no idea that they were planning to kill me!...” Jer 11:19 NLT
“…if a town refuses to welcome you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.” Luke 9:5 NLT
3. G.O.D. LOVES YOU: FOCUS ON THE PROMISE, AND NOT THE PROGRESS!!
Then JESUS said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots. (Luke 23:34 NKJV)
1. DARKNESS GIVES JESUS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHINE.
“Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.” (Luke 23:44-45 NKJV)
2. YOU CANNOT FORGIVE IF YOU DON’T HAVE TRUST.
And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last.” (Luke 23:46 NKJV)
3. DON’T PREACH CHRIST, BE CHRIST LIKE.
“So, when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!” And the whole crowd who came together to that sight, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned.” (Luke 23:47-48 NKJV)
If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one
who wants to borrow from you. Matthew 5:41-42 (NIV)
1. Our Lives Can Be Lived on 3 Levels:
Hellish Level – To return evil for good
Human Level – To return good for good and evil for evil
Heavenly Level – To return good for evil
2. THE PRINCIPLE OF THE 2ND MILE IS TO DO MORE THAN WHAT IS REQUIRED OR EXPECTED OF US. BE EXTRA!
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT)
3. POSSESS THESE “MILE-STONES” IN OUR LIVES TO RECEIVE 2ND MILE BLESSINGS:

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV)
Narrow minded is the way to life and peace.
1. YOU MUST STRIVE TO GET UNDERSTANDING SO THAT YOU CAN MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES.
“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding”. (Proverbs 4:7 NIV)
“Repent and believe the Gospel. The narrow gate is just that because you have to leave everything behind to get through.”
(Mark 1:15 ESV)
2. RECOGNIZE THAT THERE ARE TWO GATES; ONE TO HEAVEN AND ONE TO HELL AND OBEDIENCE IS THE WAY.
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to t...
