“A NIGHT TO RECHARGE ” 🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋 "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” (Psalm 42:1-2 NKJV) recharge one’s batteries: regain one’s strength and energy by resting and relaxing for a time; return to a normal state of mind or strength after a period of physical or mental exertion 1.) REMOVE YOURSELF AND ”UNPLUG” FROM THE WORLD "Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.” (1 John 2:15–16, NLT) 2.) RECHARGE AND “PLUG IN” TO GOD Renew: give fresh life or strength to…regenerate, revitalize, re-energize, restore, breathe new life into, rekindle. “but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31, ESV) “…’If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ ”But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive;…” (John 7:37–39, NASB) ”And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 13:52, NASB) 3.) REMEMBER AND CELEBRATE THE VICTORY “But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57, NLT) “…The Master, Jesus, on the night of his betrayal, took bread. Having given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body, broken for you. Do this to remember me. After supper, he did the same thing with the cup: This cup is my blood, my new covenant with you. Each time you drink this cup, remember me.” (1 Corinthians 11:23-25, The Message) Life Group Questions are: 1. What are the circumstances that are currently draining your life battery? (physically and spiritually) 2. What or who do you need to “unplug” from? 3. What do you need to “plug” into to get recharged? 4. Why is it important that we charge our batteries daily? 5. Why is remembering the Lord in the practice of communion important?
