Dear Friends and Family (Ohana): “…when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us…according to His mercy.” (Titus 3:4&5 NASB) It’s been about 30 years since a girl named Lisa (my now, and only wife) took steps of faith to keep inviting me (when I was not a Christian) to a Christmas Service at her church. At that time in my life, I usually got invited to go to a nightclub. So, this was a peculiar, and unusual invite. Nonetheless, I finally caved in, and went to her church’s Christmas Service. I remember: I was nervous, and uncomfortable sitting in the church’s Christmas Service. All I thought of was “I’m in church? What am I doing in church? I can’t believe I’m in church? Why…am…I…in…CHURCH?!” All of the questions, and all my feelings changed when the “church music”, and choir began singing - even though I wasn’t familiar with any of it. I was used to the upbeat and heavy base of nightclub music! Yet, “something” touched my heart deeply that was different - which I could not explain at that time. Suffice to say, now I know…it was the Holy Spirit that touched my heart. So now, when people ask me “how I came to Christ” - I tell them “Through a girl named Lisa who kept inviting me to her Christmas Service, and I went.” My life has been forever changed, and as far as I can remember, I can honestly say “I have not missed a Christmas Service since I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior” which was about 30 years ago. CHRISTMAS is closer, and NOW is the time to invite your friends and family to our Christmas Service on Sunday, December 23 AND, our CHRISTMAS “CANDLELIGHT” SERVICE on MONDAY, December 24 at 7:00 p.m. Remember, Christmas is one of the seasons where people are most open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and going to church! Make the invite, and keep inviting…don’t give up! Why – because studies indicate people tend to need numerous invites before they respond. WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE, you’re in for a treat! PASTOR LISA shares her inspiring message called “GRACE GIFTS”. Then…take a break from buying presents, and get into His Presence! This SUNDAY, PASTOR TERRY will stir our faith with his message “WAITING FOR THE PROMISE”. Plus, our Creative Arts kids will perform! Let the Devil know that your worship time with God is not for sale! We’re slowly chipping away at our RESTROOM EXPANSION project : Let’s continue to pray and financially give towards the CONTRUCTION PHASE! Together WE CAN get this done!
