Wednesday, November 29th, 2017 Message By: Arlett Ekstedt Series: Simply Jesus “Jesus, the UNpopular” When Being Narrow Minded is Good! “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV) Narrow minded is the way to life and peace. 1. YOU MUST STRIVE TO GET UNDERSTANDING SO THAT YOU CAN MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES. “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding”. (Proverbs 4:7 NIV) “Repent and believe the Gospel. The narrow gate is just that because you have to leave everything behind to get through.” (Mark 1:15 ESV) 2. RECOGNIZE THAT THERE ARE TWO GATES; ONE TO HEAVEN AND ONE TO HELL AND OBEDIENCE IS THE WAY. “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city”. (Judges 16:28 NKJV) 3. YOU MUST LAY DOWN SELF TO ENTER THE GATES TO HEAVEN. “And a certain man said to him, Lord, are they few who are being saved? And he said to them, Compete to enter in by the narrow gate, because many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.” (Luke 13:23-24 ACV) Life Group Questions: Is it easy for you to understand why things happen to you? Give an example. Are you obedient to God’s Word like doing devotions and journaling? If not, then why? Are you willing to be selfless? What is stopping you from being obedient to God?
