Sunday, October 15th 2017 Message By: Pastor Kent Miyohi Series: GETTING AN EARLY START “Readiness!”
“…be ready in season and out of season…for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…” (2 Timothy 4:2&3 NASB) THE TIME FOR READINESS IS BEFORE THE WHEN “From NOW on I am telling you BEFORE it comes to pass, so that WHEN it does occur, you may believe that I am He.” (John 13:19 NASB) “NOW I have told you BEFORE it happens, so that WHEN it happens, you may believe.” (John 14:29 NASB) 1. READINESS BEGINS ON THE BEACH “…if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.” (2 Timothy 2:21 NASB) 2. READINESS IS WORK “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now, five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.” (Matthew 25:1-4 NASB) “…the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you…go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.” (Matthew 25:8-10 NASB) 3. READINESS IS WISDOM “The ants are not a strong people, but they prepare their food in the summer.” (Proverbs 30:25 NASB) 4 ETERNAL THINGS TO BE READY FOR: READY FOR JESUS’ SECOND COMING READY TO MEET YOUR MAKER READY TO GIVE AN ACCOUNT FOR YOUR LIFE READY TO RECEIVE YOUR REWARDS “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” (Revelation 22:12 NKJ) Life Group Discussion: 1.
