HALFTIME!!

Sunday, April 15th, 2018 Message By: Pastor Bam Lauvao Series: The Greatest Comeback “Halftime!!" THE MOST INSIGNIFICANT SCORE, IS THE SCORE AT HALFTIME. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts (Haggai 2:9 KJV)
HALFTIME DECEPTIONS The “I HAVE ARRIVED” deception The “I WILL NEVER ARRIVE” deception 1. THE HALFTIME SCORE IS YOUR CURRENT INVENTORY. For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; (1 Corinthians 15:9-10 NKJV) FORGIVE YOUR FIRST-HALF. 2. SHIFT THE GAME PLAN BY TIGHTENING UP ON “HELP” DEFENSE. SHORE UP BLIND SPOTS! Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. (Galatians 6:1 NKJV) SHUT DOWN THE BLAME GAME! He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. (Proverbs 28:13 NKJV) 3. DON’T RE-FUEL WITH HATER-ADE, BUT WITH HOLY SPIRIT-ADE. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” (Acts 19:1-2 NKJV) I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16 NKJV) Life Group Discussion: What does your “halftime score” (current status) reveal about you? Are you ahead or are you behind? In what way? What “first half” hurts are you holding on to (rejection, abuse, abandonment, etc)? Note: your “first half” faults have to be brought to the light in order for it to be forgiven and healed. How can we up our “defense” in the second half of our lives? Why do we often look for re-fueling (satisfaction) from someone or something else? How can we overcome this for a winning second half?
