“Restoring Relationships "


“God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships.” ( 2 Corinthians 5:18, GW) 1.) BE RESTORED TO GOD FIRST : BECOME PART OF THE FAMILY

“because you still live as the people of this world live. When there is jealousy among you and you quarrel with one another, doesn’t this prove that you belong to this world, living by its standards?” (1 Corinthians 3:3, GNB)

➢ A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS, REQUIRES A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

2.) BE RESTORED TO ONE ANOTHER : STOP THE FAMILY FEUD

“Gossip is spread by wicked people; they stir up trouble and break up friendships.” (Proverbs 16:28, GNB)

“So if you are about to offer your gift to God at the altar and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar, go at once and make peace with your brother, and then come back and offer your gift to God."

(Matthew 5:23–24, GNB)

➢ BE A PEACEMAKER, NOT A TROUBLEMAKER

“God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9, NLT)

➢ THE LOVE AND UNITY OF BELIEVERS, SHOWS THAT GOD SENT JESUS

“That they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:21, NASB)

3.) BE MINISTERS OF RESTORING RELATIONSHIPS : BRINGING THEM INTO THE FAMILY

“…and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships.” ( 2 Corinthians 5:18, GW)

”For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:19, NLT)
