When There's No Help From Others
Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was no one to help. (Psalm 107:12 NASB) 1.GOD SHOULD BE ON YOUR FAVORITES LIST It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in people. (Psalm 118:8–9 NLT) 2.GOD REMOVES PEOPLE TO RETURN YOUR HEART BACK TO HIM Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” (Joel 2:12 NKJV) 3.GOD IS NOT THE RESOURCE BUT THE SOURCE OF YOUR HELP 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8 ESV) 25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. 26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. (Mark 5:25-29 NLT) Victory Group Questions 1. Sometimes God is the last one we go to for help instead of the first. Was there a time when you should have gone to God first and not depended on people? 2. If God removed people in your lives, how did you react to it? Did you see the good purpose behind it? Did it make you turn your heart more to God? 3. We can stand firm knowing where our help comes from, or better Whom it comes from. How can you grow your faith in trusting God alone? What changes do you need to make?
