“Having No Baggage”
“The Journey is inevitable. Baggage-optional.” -Tev Aliage
“Then He sent them out [on a brief journey] to preach the kingdom of God and to perform healing. And He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey [that might encumber you]-- neither a walking stick, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics apiece.”
LUKE 9:2-3 AMP
1. AVOID OVERPACKING!!
“YOU ALREADY HAVE ALL THAT YOU NEED!!”
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Psalms 23:1 NKJV
“But Moses protested again, “What if they won’t believe me or listen to me? What if they say, ‘The Lord never appeared to you’?” Then the Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?” “A shepherd’s staff,” Moses replied.”
Exodus 4:1-2 NLT
2. AVOID ITEMS THAT ARE RESTRICTED, BECAUSE THEY BRING RESTRICTIONS!!
GUILT - SHAME
FAILURE - REGRETS
OFFENSES - PAST HURTS
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
Romans 8:1 NKJV
3. THROW AWAY YOUR SINS, BECAUSE HIDING IT WON’T HELP!!
“And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.”
Romans 2:16 NLT
TSA WILL FIND IT!!
“The Sin Amplifier”
“When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?””
Genesis 3:8-9 NLT
Life Group Questions:
What type of doubts are you carrying, that’s hindering you from reaching your promise land? If you have none, share an encouraging word with the group.
Do you struggle with condemnation? Do you need to seek forgiveness from others? Or yourself? Then do it!
(Read Romans 2:16) Does this passage bring conviction? How so? If not, share why.
Have we been hiding sin, or hiding in sin that we’ve become unrecognizable to God? What steps will you take to apply the “Triple A’s”?
