"HAVING A BURDEN REMOVER!"

2 TYPES OF BURDENS

SELF-INFLICTED BURDEN

GOD-INFLICTED BURDEN = THE BURDEN OF THE CROSS.

I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.  Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you,”

 (2 Corinthians 12:7-9 NIV)

HE WILL HELP YOU CARRY THE BURDEN!

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

(Matthew 11:28-30 NASB)

HOW TO FIND RELIEF IN GODLY BURDENS:

1. BRING THE BURDEN BACK TO JESUS.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

(Matthew 11:28 NASB)

2. “YOKE-UP” WITH JESUS.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

(Matthew 11:29 NASB)

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

(Matthew 11:30 NASB)

3. LEARN FROM JESUS & FIND REST IN HIM.

Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

(Matthew 11:29 NASB)

LESSON LEARNED:  THE GLORY CAN BE FOUND ON THE GROUND.

Life Group Discussion:

What are some examples of the “self-inflicted” burdens you currently carry?  How are you dealing with these types of burdens?

What are some examples of the “God-inflicted” burdens you currently carry?  How are you dealing with these types of burdens?

What valuable lesson can we glean from JESUS stating “Come to Me?”

When you’re “yoked-up” with JESUS, what are some of the valuable lessons learned from being yoked to Him?
