“Jesus, Resolution”

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NASB)

Mutable: liable to change

Immutable: unchanging over time or unable to be changed

1.) JESUS RESOLVED TO LIVE A LIFE OF OBEDIENCE

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 6:38, NASB)

2.) JESUS RESOLVED TO SHOW GOD’S CHARACTER

…but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” (John 1:17–18, NLT)

For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.” (Colossians 2:9, NLT)

3.) JESUS RESOLVED TO BE THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, ESV)

4.) JESUS RESOLVED TO LOVE SINNERS

As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem." (Luke 9:51, NLT)

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.” (Romans 5:6, NLT)

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." (1 John 4:10, NLT)

5.) WE SHOULD BE RESOLVED IN BEING LIKE JESUS

We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (1 John 3:16, NLT)
