“Building Your Future & Hope”

IN CHRIST OUR LORD!

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it…” (Psalm 127:1 NASB)

“How lonely sits the city that was full of people! She has become like a widow who was once great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become a forced laborer.” (Lamentations 1:1 NASB)

“…she did not consider her future…” (Lamentation 1:9 NASB)

1. THERE IS A COUNTERFEIT FUTURE & HOPE

“And the tempter came and said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’” (Matthew 4:3 NASB)

2. BUILD WITH THE HUMILITY OF LIFE

“Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning You’; and ‘On their hands they will bear You up…” (Matthew 4:6 NASB)

INVITE FAITHFUL FRIENDS TO CORRECT YOU

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.” (Proverbs 27:6 NASB)

“… On the other hand, it is written, ‘you shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” (Matthew 4:7 NASB)

3. PRACTICE DELAYED GRATIFICATION

“Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, ‘All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.’ (Matthew 4:8-9 NASB)

DON’T CUT CORNERS

“The Stone which the builders rejected, this became the Chief Cornerstone.” (Luke 20:17)
