BUILT TO SHINE

Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 Message By: Pastor Lisa Miyoshi Series: Built On Purpose “Built to Shine”

Arise, SHINE, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:1-2 (ESV)

BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE…

  1. CHOSEN TO SHOWCASE CHRIST IN YOUR LIFE. JESUS IS THE HOPE OF GLORY AND SALVATION TO THIS WORLD!

You are a CHOSEN generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)

We now have this light SHINING in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)

  • A LIGHTHOUSE - A BEACON OF HOPE!

You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT)

2. CONSECRATED - SET APART FOR THE MASTER’S USE; LIVING A LIFE OF HOLINESS!

You have been set apart as HOLY to the LORD your God, and He has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be His own special treasure. Deuteronomy 14:2 (NLT)

3. UNCOMPROMISING - REPRESENTING CHRIST WELL BY HOW YOU LIVE!

Compromise – Accepting standards that are lower than is desirable

Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the Word of Life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. Philippians 2:14-16 (NLT)
