● DOES NOT START WITH MONEY, IT STARTS WITH HONOR

Honor: Valuable, treat as precious, weighty like gold; appreciation, esteem, favorable, regard, respect.

1. HONOR GOES UP, HONOR COMES DOWN

“Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.” (I Samuel 2:30 NIV)

“…He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.” (Mark 6:5 NKJ)

“But, Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.’” (Mark 6:4 NKJ)

2. HONOR IS KEY TO RECEIVING FROM HEAVEN

Dishonor: To not show respect; treat as common, ordinary, or menial.

“How you have fallen from heaven…you have been cut down to the earth, you who have weakened the nations! …you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of assembly…I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14:12-14 NASB)

● DISHONOR IS THE BREEDING GROUND FOR BETRAYAL

“…where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt 6:21 NASB)

3. FAITHFULLY GIVE YOUR TITHES AND OFFERING

“Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits (tithe) of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10 NKJ)

“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.” (Malachi 3:8 NKJ)

Rob: To steal from; to deprive of something due or expected.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse (home church), so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” (Malachi 3:10 NKJ)

● STORE UP TREASURES IN HEAVEN

“…store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…” (Matthew 6:20 NASB)
