“Time Does Fly!"
TIME FLIES WHEN YOU’RE HAVING FUN!
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; (Ecclesiastes 3:4 NKJV)
1. PUT “FUN” BACK IN DYS-FUN-CTIONAL.
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22 NASB)
2. IT’S UP TO YOU HOW LONG YOU WEEP.
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5 NASB)
LAUGH OUT LOUD (LOL) MORE OFTEN.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting; then they said among the nations, “TheLORD has done great things for them.” (Psalm 126:2 NASB)
3. IN TIMES OF HEAVINESS, PUT ON THE GARMENT OF PRAISE.
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,” (Psalm 30:11 NKJV)
To dance in the rain, You must first learn to praise Him in the storm. (G.R. Smith)
Life Group Discussion:
The bad news is that time does fly. The good news is that you’re the pilot. Are there fun areas in your life you wish would never end? What are some enjoyments that make life worth living? AND, are these enjoyments God pleasing?
What area(s) of your life do you feel are not fun anymore (i.e. ministry, worship, prayer, journaling, work, etc..)? Why are they not fun? Do these “un-fun” things reveal the condition of your heart?
Why is prolonged grief not healthy? What are some side-effects of prolonged grief? On the contrary, why is laughing good for you?
Do you think dancing is a bad thing? Is there such a thing as a dance that pleases God?
