“Grace to You"

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. (Colossians 4:5 NKJV)

• GRACE EXTENDED UNIFIES THE BODY OF BELIEVERS: NEW, MATURE, AND THE SEEKER

1. EXTEND GRACE BY GIVING OTHERS PERMISSION TO BE DIFFERENT FROM YOU

Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. (Romans 14:1 NKJV)

For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. (Romans 14:2-3 NKJV)

2. EXTEND GRACE TO ULTIMATELY RESTORE

And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. (1 Peter 5:10 NIV)

• RESTORATION KILLERS:NEGLIGENCE AND ENDORSEMENT

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.(Romans 6:14 NKJV)

3. EXTENDING GRACE IS RISKY BECAUSE IT CAN BE ABUSED OR EXPLOITED; BUT THAT SHOULDN’T STOP A GRACE DISPENSER

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. (Hebrews 12:15 NIV)

Life Group Discussion:

1. Churches vary in practices and preferences (i.e. clothes, hats, music, preaching, etc.…).What does this message teach about GRACE in regards to preferences?

2. Why does negligence and endorsement oppose the purpose of Grace to Restore?

3. Does GRACE allow the license to sin (reference Romans 6:14)?

4. Are you judgmental in your GRACE dispensing?Do you find yourself dispensing GRACE to certain people, while withholding GRACE to others?Why is this not preferred?
