"Can't Stand For That!"

♱♱♱♱♱♱♱♱

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2 NKJV)

➢ Conform: to act in accord with the prevailing standards, attitudes, practices, etc. of a society or a group…(this world)

➢ Transform: to change in condition, nature, or character; convert suggests so changing the characteristics as to change the use or purpose: (i.e. a sinner, to saint)

1.) WE MUST STAND OR WE WILL FALL

“But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil…” (Habakkuk 1:13, NLT).

“Blessed and favored by God is the man who fears [sin and its consequence] at all times, But he who hardens his heart [and is determined to sin] will fall into disaster.” (Proverbs 28:14, AMP)

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1 NASB)

2.) WE MUST STAND FOR THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM

"Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9–10, NLT)

“But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (1 Peter 2:9, NASB)

3.) WE MUST STAND IN THE RENEWING OF OUR MINDS

“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” (1 Peter 1:13–16, NASB)
