“Spirit Health"

♱♱♱♱♱♱♱♱

“Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is valuable in every way, because it promises life both for the present and for the future.” (1 Timothy 4:8, GNB)

Senses: SEEING ,  HEARING ,  FEELING , TASTING ,  SMELLING

1.)   SPIRITUAL HEALTH COMES FROM INTENTIONAL EXERCISE

➢  Spiritual exercise: any intentional behavior that helps one become more like Jesus, that draws them closer to God, to know Him better, to follow His word.

“But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:14, NKJV)

  • Systematically reading and studying your Bible - Journaling

  • Consistent, prayer (having a two-way conversation), Fasting

  • Fellowship with other believers, Serving, Worship

  • Sharing one’s faith

  • Obedience to God, Trust

2.)   SPIRITUAL HEALTH IS HINDERED BY APATHY AND DECEPTION

“but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.” (Mark 4:19, ESV)

"Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods…” (1 Timothy 4:1–3, NLT)

3.)  SPIRITUAL HEALTH IS FOR THE NEXT SEASON

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…” (Galatians 5:22–23, NLT)

“So all of us…reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” (2 Corinthians 3:18, NLT)
