Message By: Pastor Terry Welham
“Saved For Purpose"
1.) YOU ARE SAVED ON PURPOSE FOR A PURPOSE
“For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son,..” (Romans 8:29, NLT)
2.) YOU ARE SAVED FOR THE PURPOSE OF SERVING
“…we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.” (Ephesians 2:10, The Message)
“ …even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28, ESV)
"If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.” (John 13:14–15, ESV)
“…the greatest among you shall be your servant.” (Matthew 23:11)
3.) WE ARE SAVED TO SERVE OTHERS FROM A HEART OF LOVE
“…Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13, NLT)
"Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24, The Message)
"You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” (Philippians 2:5–8, NLT)
