"Catch It, Correct It!"
ENTERING INTO SOMETHING UNPREPARED CAN TURN YOUR DREAMS INTO A NIGHTMARE
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." (Benjamin Franklin)
1. "CATCH IT” BY TAKING HONEST INVENTORY OF YOUR LIFE (SPIRIT, SOUL, BODY)
Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. (Psalm 139:23-24 NASB)
3 Self-Inventory Questions
How is my integrity before the LORD?
How is my purity before the LORD?
How is my purity before my spouse?
2. “CORRECT IT” BY DISCARDING WHAT IS DEFECTIVE, BUT PROMOTING WHAT IS PROSPERING
Get up! Command the people to purify themselves in preparation for tomorrow. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: “Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you.” (Joshua 7:13 NLT)
THE INABILITY TO DISCARD BAD INVENTORY PROMISES CONTINUAL DEFEAT
3. CORRECTION WILL ALWAYS REQUIRE TIME TO “RE-STORE”
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12 NKJV).
Come and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. (Hosea 6:1 NKJV)
