“Cross Your Jordan!"

• YOUR REVELATION OF GOD HAS TO BE GREATER THAN YOUR REVERENCE FOR THE IMPASSABLE!

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. (Psalm 34:19 NKJV)

1. TO CROSS, YOU MUST WATCH AND PURSUE THE MOVE OF GOD

So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp; and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.” (Joshua 3:2-3 NKJV)

• LEADERS MUST GO FIRST

• FOLLOWERS MUST FORGO COMFORT

2. EXPECT TO CROSS AT AN INCONVENIENT TIME

…those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), (Joshua 3:15 NKJV)

• GOD CAN REVERSE THE NATURAL ORDER OF “RESPECT OF POWER”

…the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, (Joshua 3:16 NKJV)

3. TO CROSS, DO YOUR PART BY GETTING YOUR FEET WET

• Your part may be small in comparison, but it is certainly not inconsequential

…those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water…So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off. And the people crossed over… (Joshua 3:15-16 NKJV)

1. Discuss what this means: “Your revelation of God has to be greater than your reverence for the impassable!”

2. How do we practically “watch and pursue the move of God?”

3. Is there such a thing as a convenient time?How does this alter our perspective of crossing the “Jordan?”
