“INTRODUCING THE HOLY SPIRIT"
- A SOLID INTRODUCTION REQUIRES A STRONG RELATIONSHIP
Who is the Holy Spirit?
1. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FULLY GOD
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
(Matthew 28:19 NKJV)
CO-EQUAL: ONE WITH THE FATHER & THE SON
CO-ETERNAL: EVERLASTING WITH THE FATHER & THE SON
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
(Genesis 1:1-2 NKJV)
Is the Holy Spirit a Person or a Power emanating from God?
2. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A UNIQUE PERSON, NOT SIMPLY A POWER
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
(John 16:13-14 NKJV)
How do we respond to the Holy Spirit?
3. HE HOLY SPIRIT IS WORTHY OF THE SAME:
WORSHIP
CONFIDENCE
SENSITIVITY
When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
(Matthew 3:16 NKJV)
