Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Make haste to help me, O LORD!...But I am poor and needy; make haste to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.
(Psalm 70:1,5 NKJV)
THE FASTEST WAY TO RECEIVE IS TO QUICKLY OBEY THE WORDS OF JESUS
When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
(Luke 5:4 NKJV)
But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
(Luke 5:5-6 NKJV)
How can I quickly obey JESUS?
2. DON’T TALK YOURSELF OUT OF FAITH
But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
(Luke 5:5 NKJV)
3. DON’T HESITATE IN DOING GOOD
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give to you”—when you already have it with you.
(Proverbs 3:27-28 NIV)
4. GIVE LIKE HOW YOU RECEIVE: FREELY
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
(Matthew 10:7-8 NKJV)
Life Group Discussion:
Discuss what delayed or partial obedience is and how they can impact a quick move of God in our lives.
Sometimes we talk more about what Satan has done versus what God can do. What can we do to talk ourselves into faith?
Read James 4:17 and Romans 12:21. Discuss the impacts to your life when you withhold good.
The faster you give, the faster you receive. What are some of the things you can give in order to receive more from God? (i.e. love, time, commitment, dedication, joy, etc.)
