WORD FOR THE WOUNDED (PT.1)

THE WORD OF LIFE

“Word For The Wounded (Part I)”

“Therefore we do not lose heart…For light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” (2 Corinthians 4:16-17 NIV)

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 NIV)

“Above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked.” (Ephesians 6:16 KJV)

SOURCES OF WOUNDS:

l INTENTIONAL

“…I have wounded and I will heal…” (Deuteronomy 32:39 NIV)

l UNINTENTIONAL

l SELF-INFLICTED

GOD’S REMEDY:

  1. BE PROACTIVE: GUARD YOUR HEART

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (Proverbs 4:23 NLT)

  • CLOSE YOUR HEART LID

  1. WORSHIP GOD, NOT YOUR WOUNDS

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24 NIV)

  1. ASK FOR AND APPLY WISDOM

“If You need wisdom – if you want to know what God wants you to do – ask him, and he will gladly tell you.” (James 1:5 LB)

  1. FIX YOUR FOCUS ON WHAT’S ETERNAL

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV)

Life Group Discussion:
