HEARING FROM PEACE

“HEAR FROM GOD!” “Hearing From Peace"

“ And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7, ESV)

PEACE: “The Greek word used here, eirēnē, conveys a range of meanings, including well-being, prosperity, freedom from anxiety, safety from harm, and deliverance from enemies.” (Faithlife Study Bible)

1.) TO HEAR GOD YOU MUST BE AT PEACE WITH GOD

“Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints;…” (Psalms 85:8, ESV)

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3, NLT)

➢ TO KNOW PEACE, WE MUST KNOW GOD

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1, ESV)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5, NASB)

2.) LET CHRIST’S PEACE RULE IN YOUR HEART

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,…” (Colossians 3:15,ESV)

➢ THE WORLD CRIES FOR PEACE BUT NONE CAN BE FOUND

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27, ESV)

3.) GOD INTENDS THE CHRISTIAN LIFE TO BE LIVED WITH INTERNAL PEACE

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16, NLT)

➢ WORRY IMPLIES THAT GOD IS NOT PRESENT

“Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” (Psalms 34:14, NLT)
