LIGHT FOR THE LOST

“LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS”
“LIGHT FOR THE LOST"
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and gives light to all who are in the house.” (Matthew 5:14-15 NKJV)
1.) WE ARE THE LIGHT
“While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light.” (John 12:36, NASB)
"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12, ESV)
“You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14, NKJV)
2.) WE ARE POSITIONED BY GOD TO SHINE
“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9 ,NLT)
“…A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14, NKJV)
WE ARE LIGHT RECEIVERS - WE ARE ALSO LIGHT GIVERS
“In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16, GNB)
3.) WE SHINE BEST WHEN WE’RE NOT HIDDEN
“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.” (Luke 8:16, NLT)
“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:5–7, ESV)
