3 TYPES OF “JOY”: EVER PRESENT, DELIBERATE, AND SATISFYING JOY
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NLT)
“…the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.” (2 Corinthians 8:1-2 ESV)
1. CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE THAT WELCOMES THE SPIRIT OF JOY
“…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” (Gal. 5:22-23 NASB)
2. BE AROUND JOYFUL PEOPLE!
“…for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10 NASB)
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4 NASB)
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” (Acts 16:25 NIV)
3. TAKE DAILY A HEAVY DOSE OF LAUGHTER!
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength." (Prov. 17:22 NLT)
