Being Strong and Courageous

1. DESIRE IS NOT ENOUGH, YOU NEED TO BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS

“But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.’ Peter said to Him, ‘Lord, if it is You, command me to come to you on the water.’ And He said, ‘Come!’ And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.” (Matthew 14:27-29 NASB)

2. GOD COMMANDS STRENGTH & COURAGE

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NASB)

3. PERSONALIZE AND REPEAT GOD’S COMMAND, AND TAKE ACTION

“…let the weak say, ‘I am strong’.” (Joel 3:10 NKJ)

4. GOD COMMANDS STRENGTH & COURAGE FOR A “WORTHY CAUSE”

“…Now I had not been sad in his presence. So the king said to me, ‘Why is your face sad though you are not sick? This is nothing but sadness of heart.’ Then I was very much afraid.” (Nehemiah 2:1-2 NASB)

“…in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37 NIV)
