When You Say "I DO" by Pastor Lisa Miyoshi
1. THERE IS POWER WHEN YOU WALK IN AGREEMENT
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:19-20 (ESV)
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 (ESV)
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:29-30 (NIV)
2. MARRIAGE IS A COVENANT; A PROMISE MADE BETWEEN YOU, YOUR SPOUSE AND GOD
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate. Mark 10:7-9 (NKJV)
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. Ephesians 4:2-3 (NLT)
Read Matthew 18:19-20 and apply it to your relationships, especially in a marriage. What areas do you need to come in agreement with your loved ones and walk together in unity so that you can receive the blessings from God?
Read 2 Corinthians 6:14. Are you unequally yoked in a relationship that may be affecting your relationship with God and with others? Has it been a struggle to break free from this relationship? If so, share it with the group so they can pray for you.
Being single or in a marriage is a means of serving and glorifying God and being committed to Him. How can we strengthen our Covenant promise we made to God as a Believer, especially as a single person or in our marriage?
Read Ephesians 4:2-3. How can you practically live out this scripture in your marriage, family, ministry and/or workplace? Pray for one another to be the Destiny People God has called you to be.
