When Your Faith is Tested

TEST: (v) Take measures to check the quality, performance, or reliability of (something), especially before putting it into widespread use or practice.

“Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey His commands.”

1. FAITH THAT HASN’T BEEN TESTED, CAN’T BE TRUSTED.

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!”

2. TESTS NOT ONLY REVEAL SOMETHING TO YOU, IT REFINES SOMETHING IN YOU.

“In this you rejoice greatly, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, which is much more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested and purified by fire, may be found to result in [your] praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

1 Peter 1:6-7 (AMP)

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your FAITH is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”
