1. WORSHIP:

  • Hbr: SHACHAH – Bow down, fall down, prostrate oneself, lowering ones whole self in submission, physical humbling, a posture of total yielding.

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.”

(Psalm 95:6-7 NIV)

  • Gr: PROSKUNEO - Bow down; kiss the hand or foot in homage; public showing of special honor/respect; deep reverence, and devotion.

  • Gr: LATREUO - Sacred or religious service, or homage, involving dedicated/exclusive actions to serve God.

2. CHURCH IS THE INGATHERING, WORSHIP IS FOR THE INFILLING

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

(Hebrews 10:25 NKJ)

“Let us go into His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool.”

(Psalm 132:7 NASB)

3. LIFT YOUR HEARTS, BY LIFTING YOUR HANDS

“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord.”

(Psalm 134:2 KJV)

“The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him…”

(2 Chronicles 16:9 NLT)

4. THERE’S A TIME TO WORSHIP IN SILENCE, AND THERE’S A TIME TO WORSHIP BY SINGING

“I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” (Psalm 104:33 NASB)

“…singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord.”

(Ephesians 5:19 NASB)

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”

(Psalm 22:3 KJV)
