1. THANKFULNESS DOESN’T JUST FOLLOW GOD’S PRESENCE, IT’S THE ENTRYWAY TO IT.
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”
Psalm 100:4 (NKJV)
“always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to our God and Father;”
Ephesians 5:20 (NASB)
2. GIVING THANKS PUTS OUR PERSPECTIVE INTO PLACE.
“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 (CSB)
“For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”
2 Timothy 3:2-4 (NASB)
3. BEING GRATEFUL DOESN’T CHANGE YOUR SITUATION, IT CHANGES YOU.
“So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude.”
Colossians 2:6-7 (CSB)
Victory Group Questions:
1. Think about the last thing you found yourself complaining about. How might being thankful have changed your perspective on that situation?
2. Share a time when you were focused on a problem, but you ended up being grateful for it?
3. What is one small, daily habit you could adopt this week (e.g., a morning thanks list, a specific phrase, etc.) to make gratitude a conscious part of your walk rather than just a
feeling that comes and goes?
4. What was your biggest takeaway from this message and why?
