Having Your Game Face On!

  • VIEW YOURSELF LIKE AN ATHLETE

“I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should…” (I Corinthians 9:27 NLT)

“Doing wickedness is like a sport to a fool, and so is wisdom to a person of understanding.” (Proverbs 10:23 NASB)

1. GET FOCUSED & SERIOUS

“Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to

shame.” (Isaiah 50:7 NIV)

“…for they have demoralized the builders. So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a

mind to work.” (Nehemiah 4:6 NASB)

2. BE FORWARD FOCUSED

“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is

ahead.” (Philippians 3:13 NIV)

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14 NIV)

3. SET A PRIZE BEYOND THE PROBLEM & THE PAIN

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its

shame…” (Hebrews 12:2 BSB)

“In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its

strength.” (Revelation 1:16 NASB).
