PRACTICING SCALES, IS PRACTICING BASICS
1. LEARN AND PRACTICE THE BASICS, UNTIL IT BECOMES NATURAL
“…You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
(Matthew 22:37 NASB)
“The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
(Matthew 22:39-40 NASB)
PREMATURE GRADUATION CAN CAUSE FUTURE FRUSTRATION
“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.”
(Hebrews 5:12 NASB)
“But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.”
(Hebrews 5:14 NASB)
2. PRACTICE THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT, NOT JUST THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
“…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
(Galatians 5:22-23 NASB)
3. MASTER THE BASICS, AND EXCEL STILL MORE
“For indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more.”
(I Thessalonians 4:10 NASB)
