“Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son...”
Luke 1:13 (NASB)
1. DON’T JUST PRAY ABOUT THE PROBLEM, PRAY THE PROMISE THAT ADDRESSES THE PROBLEM.
“For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Luke 1:37 (NKJV)
2. PRAYING GOD’S PROMISES ALIGNS OUR HEARTS WITH HIS WILL, NOT JUST OUR WANTS.
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV)
3. WHEN YOU FOLLOW GOD’S PROMISES, YOU FIND HIS FAITHFULNESS.
“God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?”
Numbers 23:19 (NLT)
Victory Group Questions:
1. What’s one current challenge you’re facing, and what promise from Scripture could directly address it?
2. Why do you think we often spend more time describing our problems to God than declaring His promises? What does that reveal about our trust?
3. What signs tell you your heart might be out of alignment with God, and how could praying His promises help realign it?
