1. GOD MAY NOT GIVE YOU ANSWERS, BUT HE WILL GIVE YOU A PROMISE

“Zacharias was troubled when he saw the angel, and fear gripped him.”

(Luke 1:12 NASB)

“…your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John.”

(Luke 1:13 NASB)

“…‘How will I know this for certain? For I am an old man and my wife is advanced in years.’” (Luke 1:18 NASB)

2. CHOOSE TO “YET BELIEVE”, EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW ALL THE ANSWERS

“… ‘Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed’.”

(John 20:29 NASB)

  • HAVING FEAR AND DOUBT DOESN’T MAKE YOU A BAD CHRISTIAN, IT MAKES YOU HUMAN

3. IF YOU CAN’T PROCLAIM THE PROMISE, CLOSE YOUR MOUTH

“And behold, you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day when these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.” (Luke 1:20 NASB)

4. WRESTLE WITH DOUBT FORWARD

“But when he came out, he was unable to speak to them…and he kept making signs to them, and remained mute. When the days of his priestly service were ended, he went back home. After these days Elizabeth…became pregnant.”

(Luke 1:22-24 NASB)

“Now the time had come for Elizabeth to give birth, and she gave birth to a son…and he shall be called John.”

(Luke 1:57 & 60 NASB)

Victory Group Questions:

1. What promise has God given you, that your circumstance doesn’t seem like that promise can come to pass?

2. What should we do with “doubts”?

3. How will you apply what you’ve learned from this message?
