Marriage Myth: “You complete me”

1. GOD COMPLETES YOU, YOUR SPOUSE COMPLEMENTS YOU!

Now the LORD God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.”

Genesis 2:18 AMP

❖ YOUR CATCH IS DEPENDENT UPON YOUR LURE!

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”

2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV

Marriage Myth: “Marriage is 50/50”

2. MARRIAGE IS 100/100; YOU DO WHAT YOU CAN, GOD DOES WHAT YOU CAN’T!

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness’...”

2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV

“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.”

Ephesians 5:22 NKJV

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,”

Ephesians 5:25 NKJV

Marriage Myth: “Happily Ever After”

3. IT’S NOT A HAPPILY EVER AFTER, IT’S A JOY THAT’S EVER PRESENT!

“‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”

Ephesians 5:31-32 NKJV
