“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 (ESV)

1. LEARN TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD.

“...but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”

1 Samuel 30:6 (KJV)

“Wait for and confidently expect the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the LORD.”

Psalm 27:14 (AMP)

2. DON’T LET YOUR WAITING TURN INTO WEARINESS.

“Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.”

Galatians 6:9 (AMP)

"Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled."

Romans 15:4 (NLT)

3. OUR PAST VICTORIES ARE WEAPONS FOR PRESENT BATTLES.

“And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death.”

Revelation 12:11 (AMP)

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
