THE GREATEST ARE THE SERVANTS
“The greatest among you will be your servant.” (Matthew 23:11 NIV)
SERVANTRY IS NOT A DEMOTION FROM GREATNESS, IT’S A PROMOTION TO GREATNESS
“…The greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.”
(Luke 22:26-27 NIV)
1. GREATNESS IS DETERMINED THROUGH SERVING
“…The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
(Matthew 20:28 NIV)
2. THE GREATEST TEST OF A SERVANT IS HOW HE RESPONDS WHEN HE IS TREATED LIKE ONE
“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.”
(Psalm 51:12 NASB)
3. GREATNESS IS ONLY ACHIEVED THROUGH SIFTING
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat…”
(Luke 22:31 NIV)
BUT JESUS IS PRAYING FOR YOU
“…But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
(Luke 22:32 NIV)
4. SEE HOW THEY LOVE ONE ANOTHER
“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
(John 13:35 NASB)
