  • DON’T RUSH INTO YOUR FUTURE, PREPARE FOR IT

1. TOMORROW’S BLESSINGS, IS CONDITIONAL ON TODAY’S OBEDIENCE

“Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today…All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the Lord your God.”

(Deuteronomy 28:1-2 NASB)

2. BE THANKFUL FOR PAST AND PRESENT BLESSINGS, AND GRATEFUL FOR FUTURE BLESSINGS

“You have done many good things for me, Lord, just as you promised.”

(Psalm 119:65 NLT)

“Lord, I am overflowing with Your blessings, just as you promised.”

(Psalm 119:65 TLB)

“Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’”

(Joshua 3:8 NIV)

“…as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord…set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.”

(Joshua 3:13 NIV)

“…as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam…”

(Joshua 3:15-16 NIV)

3. BE PATIENT, KEEP THE FAITH, AND PREPARE

“The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the lord stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground, until all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan.”

(Joshua 3:17 NASB)

4. IMPATIENCE CAN DECREASE THE PRECIOUSNESS OF FUTURE BLESSING

  • DON’T TAKE A FUTURE BLESSING

“… ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’…”

(Luke 15:12 NASB)

  • WAIT PATIENTLY FOR GOD’S TIME
