1. CRUTCHES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TEMPORARY, NOT PERMANENT
“But Moses’ hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set.”
(Exodus 17:12 NASB)
2. GOD EQUIPS, AND EMPOWERS, NOT ENABLES
“And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers.”
(Ephesians 4:11 NASB)
“For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.”
(Ephesians 4:12 NASB)
KATARTISMON – To MEND
“Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.”
(Mark 1:19 NASB)
3. LEARN TO FEED YOURSELF
“Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.”
(Jeremiah 15:16 NASB).
Victory Group Questions:
1. Metaphorically speaking: “What’s the purpose of crutches?”
2. “What kind of crutches did you need in your life?”
3. Why does God remove crutches?
4. How will you be and live differently from what you’ve learned?
